Installing downspouts is a very straight forward job but you need the right tool to do the job properly. Unfortunately its almost impossible to tell if the downspouts are not put together properly because the evidence is hidden inside of the elbow or another downspout section that it is going into. When an installer doesn’t have the proper C4 crimping tool, they usually just crush the end of the downspout so it fits into the next section. Have a look at this video to see what an improperly installed downspout looks like. This installer didn’t even care to hide his poor workmanship. It’s a good example though of what not to do.
Why Hire Home Smart to repair or install your downspouts
When we install downspouts or new elbows, we always use a C4 crimping tool to properly crimp the corners on the end of the downspout or elbow so that they fit together perfectly and no debris will get caught in the connection which can cause water to back up into your gutters causing an overflow. We guarantee that any downspouts we install will never clog.
